Back in March 2024 a rusty old Lambretta DL200 Electronic was offered for sale via auction. Its appearance set social media pages alight with comments and opinions from ‘experts’ about whether this classic scooter was fit for the bin or the road. So what did you think? Would it ride again or not?

Scooterist Stuart Briant saw beyond the rust and certainly wasn’t bothered by internet opinions. He viewed the scooter before the auction, decided what work needed to be done and how he would do it, and then placed his bid.
Stuart won the auction. Cue more social media opinions. But he wasn’t worried about what other people thought. He had a job to do, one that he was looking forward to.
What followed was a true labour of love, one which Stuart kindly shared with the readers of ScooterNova magazine from editions 49 through to 53.

If you followed the story in ScooterNova magazine then you’ll know the outcome.
Even if you didn’t you can have a pretty good guess looking at the images from the articles here. But if you want to know the hurdles Stuart had to overcome, what decisions were made and why, then you need to treat yourself to editions 49, 50, 51, 52 and 53 of ScooterNova to read all about it.
If your local scooter shop stockist has sold out of those editions, we still have a few in our online shop. But don’t drag your heels for too long – these editions are selling out fast.
ScooterNova is an A4 magazine, published bi-monthly and packed full of scooters from cover to cover. The expansive articles include plenty of detail and quality images, printed large enough for you to enjoy without having to ‘pinch to zoom’ a pixilated photo on small smartphone screen! 😉
