Do You Want to own the world’s fastest Lambretta?

Okay, so it may not be the fastest Lambretta in the world today, but back in 1951 this 125cc machine broken the world record when it recorded a top speed of over 201kph!

Lambretta Siluro ready to break records in 1951

Granted it was a factory produced scooter designed specifically for racing and fitted with a supercharger, but that was still a formidable achievement for the time!

The scooter is owned today by the Panini family and is one of two Lambretta Siluro scooters produced by Innocenti, the other is on display the Museum of Science in Milan. This scooter (without supercharger) last run in 2017 when Rimini Lambretta Centre gave it an overhaul so that Panini could run it at Goodwood that year.

You can read about that here, with the full story of the recommission and how they got on at Goodwood in edition 3 of ScooterNova magazine (available from our online shop here).

You can also read about it’s last days at the Innocenti factory in Milan in the 1990s in edition 42 of ScooterNova magazine, available by clicking here.

Anyway, the Panini family have put this amazing piece of scooter history up for sale, which will take place at the Salon Rétromobile auction in Paris, France on the 7 and 8 February 2025.

This may not be the most practical Lambretta to own, but it is certainly both a unique model and guaranteed to be a conversation starter too! If you fancy a bid then you’ll need to click on the link here to register and we would like to wish you the best of luck. Oh yes, the auction estimate: between €65,000 and €100,000. Of course in an ideal world there is a museum near Milan that already houses the finest collection of Lambretta scooters in the world, including several competition models, and I think many of us agree that the best place this one could end up is with Vittorio Tessera at his fantastic Museo Scooter e Lambretta for us all to enjoy. Fingers crossed!
