The story of Lambretta factories in Spain and India is fairly well known, but those in South America have remained a bit of a mystery to many outside of the countries involved. Until now…With big thanks to Alex at El Siambrettista, we at ScooterNova magazine are proud to have an extensive article in edition 47 about the Argentinian factory telling the story from beginning to end.
Spread over eleven pages and with rare period photographs from the factory, the launch parade, rallies and events, scooter racing, along with advertising material too, the story traces the beginning of Lambretta scooters arriving in Argentina, through the LD and D models, 3-wheelers, 48, Series 2, the unique AV model, and then to the sad demise in the 1960s. This is the first time the history of Siambretta has been told in such detail in an English language scooter magazine.
