This weekend is the 40th Anniversary Newark BSRA National Scooter Rally, and our Col has dug out some photos from his time there back in 1984.
Held at the Newark Showground starting tomorrow, Friday 5 July, the weekend’s programme includes live bands, DJs, scooter custom show, dyno, scooterist ‘rallyaoke’ among other fun things.
The Custom Show and dealer market takes place on Saturday and ScooterNova magazine will have a stall with our brand new edition 44 on sale – complete with FREE sticker!
We will also have a selection of previous editions, T-shirts, pin badges, books and other merchandise, along with the always popular Rok Straps luggage straps.
ScooterNova will also be hosting the BSRA Championship signing-on point again at Newark.
Both Lambretta and Vespa clubs will have stalls there, along with numerous scooter traders offering spare parts and accessories.
The indoor scooter show takes place during the day and will include classic and custom scooters from across the years.
Meanwhile Jonny from JG Scooters in Grantham will have his mobile dyno set up from Friday afternoon for all those wanting to test their scooter’s power or get help from the experts in setting it up.
Evening entertainment on site begins around 7pm over three rooms, with live bands beginning about 9pm and a silent disco ending the night.
During Saturday there is karaoke at the bandstand and the England football match being shown onsite live in the afternoon.
