Not everyone is perfect and not everyone will admit when something is wrong. Scooter Center Koln however are issuing a recall on certain Vespa shockers from their bgm PRO for both auto and classic models due to a potential problem.
Recall due to a potentially safety defect BGM front and rear shock absorbers for Vespa GTS, PX and PK
Today SCK issued the following recall:
For over 15 years, Scooter Center has been distributing BGM shock absorbers for Vespa scooters and is continuously developing them. Despite constant quality checks by both the manufacturer and our goods entry checks, we have unfortunately identified a safety defect that resulted in a failure in two shock absorbers. When mounting the adjustment wheel on the piston bar, in some cases, the amount of activator for gluing was insufficiently dosed. In the worst case scenario, this can lead to a solution of screwing the damper.
Since this lack of safety is not recognisable from the outside, we are calling back the following shock absorbers purchased since the sale date of January 2023 for inspection:
- Vespa GTS Front : BGM7788NB – Serial Number : SC22F, SC23H, SC23K
- Vespa GTS Rear : BGM7757B – Serial Number : SC23K, SC23H
- Vespa PX Front : BGM7781 – Serial Number : SC23A, SC23C, SC23K
- Vespa PX Front : BGM7781B – Serial Number : SC23D, SC23H, SC23J, SC23K, SC24A
- Vespa PX Rear : BGM7782B – Serial Number : SC23K, SC23H
- Vespa PK front : BGM7743B – Serial number : SC23J
(The serial number is located on the lid of the oil tank next to the piston bar. )
In order to avoid property and personal damage, the use of the affected shock absorbers should be stopped immediately. Your safety and honest treatment are very important to us.
