70s & 80s British Scooter Scene – memories & photographs

For a genuine look back to the British scooter scene of the 1970s and 80s, check out the

fascinating article in edition 43 of ScooterNova in which Midge shares his memories and extensive archive of photographs.

Chorley lad Midge got his first scooter, a Lambretta, back in 1974. Since then he has owned and ridden many Lambretta and Vespa scooters throughout the UK and across Europe.

Attending rallies and events for six decades he also starred as an extra in the film Quadrophenia, helped build the world’s first Lambretta museum and has formed friendships across the land with fellow scooterists from clubs that have become legendary names over the years.

Midge has also built many scooters over the years, Talk o’ the’ North (above) being a well known custom Lambretta of his. And he is still riding too, attending Kelso scooter rally in Scotland this very weekend.

So if you enjoy scooter nostalgia courtesy of someone who was there and part of it all, then you can read Midge’s story exclusively in edition 43 of ScooterNova magazine. The article flows across 11 pages with plenty of archive photographs to enjoy at your leisure, whether trying to spot yourself or your scooter in the background at a Scarborough rally in the early 80s or learning more about the scooter scene in general.
