An air leak in your engine is not good, but finding the source of the problem is not easy. Magazine articles about testing for such leaks, ‘or leak down tests’, often feature a classic Lambretta engine, so we thought it high time to address that.

For our article in edition 43 of ScooterNova magazine we paid a visit to Diablo Moto with Andy’s Vespa Rally 200 for Alan there to show us how he systematically checks for such problems. Al also shared some insights not just into how to check for air leaks, but also what to check and where. There are extremely minor differences between certain parts which could make all the difference for example, and that is the kind of knowledge that only comes with experience.

So if your classic 2-stroke Vespa is not running right and you want to learn more, you need to get yourself a copy of edition 43 of ScooterNova magazine. It is of course packed full of other classic scooter articles too, like the history of the Spanish Moto Vespa 125 Super in the UK, the Texaco Tourist Pilots of the 1960s & 70s, the Lambretta factory riders and racers of the 1940s & 50s, some wonderful 1980s nostalgia and tasty custom and classic scooters too.

You can find ScooterNova available from all good scooter shops, or you can buy it from our online store HERE and have it delivered to you directly at home. Either click here or copy and paste this link to shop now: https://scooternova.com/shop/
We will also have stall at Kelso BSRA Scooter Rally this May Bank Holiday weekend where you can pick up a copy of the latest edition and previous magazines too.
