We are pleased to announce that award-winning airbrush artist Dave Dickinson of DDK Airbrushing will be appearing at ScooterExpo this Sunday 21 May, giving a live demonstration for all to enjoy in Hall 1.

Back in 2019 Dave did some live work at our first ScooterExpo, the finished art-board being cover art for edition 15 of ScooterNova magazine. This time Dave tells us he will be air-brushing onto art paper.

Using acrylics and fine brushes too, Dave will create a piece of art that he aims to have completed and framed by the time the Speakers Trophies are awarded around 3.30pm.
While Dave is known for painting trophy-winning custom scooters and motorbikes for other people, he rarely gets time to do anything for himself so he decided that ScooterExpo was the place to create a piece of art for the studio wall!

Dave’s main airbrush display will be from around midday to 1pm, in between the guest speakers’ slots. He will be happy to answer questions and talk about his work before and after his demonstration, but following the first ScooterExpo when he spent more time talking that painting, he decided that a schedule was a good idea!

In keeping with our musical link to Scooter Expo 2, the subject matter will be a singer on a scooter. There will also be a projector displaying a slide show depicting various stages of preparation and paint involved in creating a custom scooter.
As well as his live demonstration, there are 10 custom scooters on display at ScooterExpo this Sunday that have passed through the DDK studio, Vespa and Lambretta, including two that have never been shown before. As you can see, Dave’s talents extend to all facets of the scooter scene including restoration, which is why his name is so often linked with show-winners across the United Kingdom.

You can watch Dave at work during the first ScooterExpo on this video:
