Readers of ScooterNova magazine will no doubt have seen in the latest edition details of our Three Shires Ride event. The reason you’ve not seen it on the blog here is that within days of edition 25 being published it sold out!
So in true Bullseye “Here’s what you could have won” style, this is what you’ve missed out on…
Why?
We’ve wanted to organise a road-rally event for some time, but until now it’s been difficult to find a space in the calendar that doesn’t clash with an established event that we as scooterists also wanted to attend ourselves. Things have obviously changed over the last 14 months or so which gave us the opportunity to share some of the wonderful roads we’ve been riding (when restrictions allowed) through lockdown. Plenty of readers were telling us how they were looking forward to riding somewhere with purpose again, and so the Three Shires was born.
Charity
Of course not being able to organise a gathering as such (sticking to current Covid-related restrictions of course) meant things were not so simple. But we formulated a plan, finalised a route, put together a souvenir pack and offered readers of ScooterNova magazine the chance to join in and raise money for the local Air Ambulance charity at the same time.
The result will see scooterists from far and wide (and we do mean far, with riders from Essex, Hampshire, Kent, Surrey and Northumbria, along with more local scooterists too) enjoying the roads of Three Shires around the East Midlands at the beginning of June. All taking part in a gentle bimble through the beautiful English Countryside.
For those who entered we look forward to seeing you somewhere along the route. If you missed out we’re sorry but maybe you will be able to join us next time?
