Back in 2006, the annual EuroVespa rally became World Vespa Days, part of Piaggio’s Vespa World Club, but for many it will still be known as the EuroVespa.
Back in 1985 the event was held in Frankfurt, Germany, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Vespa Club of Frankfurt.
To commemorate this milestone, the event programme featured a silver cover for the club’s jubilee, printed in English and German for the benefit of rally goers.

Looking back some 30 years on, you can help but smile at some of the adverts, showing 80s fashion of both scooter and rider!

Some of those accessories today though are worth a few quid, should you still have any plastic trim safely stored away in the corner of your shed, or white coated luggage racks and unwieldy cases.

The piece-de-resistance may well be the stereo equipment though – who else had the console that fitted underneath the frame at the front of the seat, shaped to curve around the bodywork, with holes in to access the choke and petrol taps?
And yes, if you weren’t careful when lifting the seat to refuel you could crack the console!
Anyway, enjoy the reminiscing and a safe ride to all those Vespa Club of Britain members riding out to Vespa World Days in Croatia in June.
Here is some footage from Eurovespa 1963 never seen before.
