Back in the early 1960s, a young girl in Manchester purchased her first scooter, a Lambretta. Fast forward to 2023 and the same young lady rode her current scooter to the international Euro Lambretta rally organised that year by Lambretta Club Great Britain in Lincoln, England.

With the decades in between filled with riding, rallying and racing scooters, as well as many motorcycle adventures, Ann Weir has some fantastic scooter-related tales to tell and she shares them exclusively with us in edition 42 of ScooterNova magazine.

From famous circuits such as Cadwell Park and Snetterton, hill climb races at Baitings Dam as well as the legendary Isle of Man Scooter Week (she was the cover star in 1967!), Ann has taken part in them all and more, with plenty of awards and trophies under her belt as a result of her success on two wheels. A long time member of the Manchester Lyons scooter club, she was also in Blackpool LC, Rochdale Mashers and London Lambretta Club over the years but always returned to the Lyons. You can read her story and view her archive of images from across the decades over 12 pages inside edition 42, and decide for yourself – was she the most colour co-ordinated scooter champion of her era?
