New web-shop for Scooter Restorations

Our friends at Scooter Restorations have revamped their online web shop and what with them serving both the local Nottinghamshire area and scooterists worldwide via mail-order, we thought we’d let you know about it.

Formed in 1991 by scooterist Paul Brierley, Scooter Restorations became known originally for their stock of original Lambretta parts. Paul spent many years clearing out old stock of factory spare parts from British dealers, throughout Europe and as far away as the Dominican Republic. Before the Lambretta factory in Lucknow, India sadly closed its doors recently (click here for details), Scooter Restorations were the only company still dealing directly with the last remaining manufacturers of Lambrettas, Scooters India Ltd.

This is one of many reasons we’ve shopped at Scooter Restorations for many years now, because you know that the SIL parts they sell are genuine and not one of the many fakes that one can spot on internet auction sites from time to time. Fake SIL electronic ignitions have caused many scooterists a problem over the years…

The shop’s new website still displays the exploded parts diagrams to help you find what you’re looking for, but now has images that are clearer to see. Scooter Restorations has also added Vespa parts to their range too, so if like us you have a wheel in both camps then that’s good news. Oh and if you’re an existing customer then you have to register again please, GDPR regulations relating to privacy etc.

It’s been a long time coming, but the new website should also perform far better on modern technology such as smartphones and iPads, so if this is how you shop then hopefully you’ll find it easier. Their stock ranges from early shaft model parts to the lesser known peculiarities of the Spanish and various Indian versions of the Lambretta, while the Vespa stock includes original Piaggio alongside pattern parts too. Scooter Restorations are still one the best places to go for Lambretta J-range parts too, in our opinion. In fact we’re in the process of placing an order for a Starstream fork overhaul kit as I type!

Among the many thousands of scooter parts they have in stock, a lot of which is no longer in production or hard to find, they also stock ScooterNova magazine, so if you’re not a regular subscriber or don’t have a local scooter shop stockist, why not add a magazine or two to your next parts order. Don’t forget to tell the folks at Scooter Restorations we sent you too!
