Nostalgia, an urban guerrilla and a 3-wheeled fire engine – edition 19, coming soon

With many people having plenty of time for a good read at the moment, we though we’d share a little of what’s inside the forthcoming edition 19 of ScooterNova magazine. Considering the current situation, we have tweaked the content from our original plan and tailored a few articles to give you something extra to get your teeth into during May and June.

For example, while there may not have been any scooter events to report on of late, John Walker has written us an alternative Easter Rally article (Never Missed An Easter) looking back at his time in the saddle since the early 1980s.
Former scooter-racer Norrie Kerr has also put pen to paper to do a little reminiscing of his competitive days on two small wheels.
Meanwhile we have not one, not two but three scooters that were formerly part of the Mike Karslake collection featured.

The first is the Li Series 1 that Mike loaned to the BBC for the TV Series Citizen Smith in the 1970s. This remained in his possession and formed part of his museum in Devon, before being auctioned off along with the rest of the scooters after he sadly passed away in 1990.

The other two are a couple of Lambro three-wheelers that also went their separate ways after the auction, but are now back together again with one owner. All three scooters are running and you can find out more exclusively in edition 19 of ScooterNova magazine.

There is plenty more inside to look forward to as well, such as the fantastic and innovative Lambretta powered by an electric motor in a unique way, and all from the mind of an alternative thinking student who loves classic scooters.  And while we’re on the subject of ‘youth’, check out The Second Coming, commuter transport for another young lad with a nod back to the 1980s.
