It’s not often you get to see the process involved in the production of a cast aluminium engine casing, but Uni-Auto of India have kindly shared this video showing the process.
Uni-Auto have recently begun production of new 200cc Lambretta engine casings featuring many updated features, as seen in the latest edition 11 of ScooterNova magazine.
The video below shows the cleaning of the tooling from the previous casting, pouring in of molten metal and the pressure casting process, before the ‘finished’ casing is extracted.
Pretty interesting to watch we think, and hope you do too. Hopefully they will make further videos showing the machining involved at the next stage of production.
