What a glorious weekend we’ve just had for Cleethorpes Scooter rally, a quality event run by the Mansfield Monsters and Olympic scooter clubs who both deserve a pat on the back for another great time had by all.
We at ScooterNova magazine rode up on Friday, Andy’s 1955 Lambretta Model D clocking up more test miles with the Rob Miller big box exhaust fitted (see edition 8 for product review) in the sunshine.
The ScooterNova magazine stall on the rally campsite hosted another cheese & wine soirée to celebrate the launch of edition 8, with scooterists from England, Scotland, Wales, Belgium and France turning up to say hello and join in the celebrations.
We had a number of scooters on display throughout the day, a number which had featured in the magazine previously, which those in attendance enjoyed examining in even further detail. Slacker The Pin-Striper was also on hand to pin-stripe a few scooters too, which also attracted an audience, while birthday boy Andrew ‘Sluice’ from York SC provided music via his Dystopian Project Lambretta.
So as well as the aforementioned clubs and people, we’d also like to thank Andy and Kay from the Vespa Club of Britain for driving the van up with our stall inside, Crusader Promotions and Lexham for the lend of a gazebo, everyone who helped on the stall serving customers or dismantling it at the end of the day, everyone who brought cheese, wine and other nibbles to the party, as well as Mad Dog from the Monsters for rigging up a TV on the site for those still working to watch a certain football match! 😉
As we did last year, we’ve put a little video together that we hope captures the fun in the sun we all had over the weekend, so feel free to share it around.
If you forgot the buy a copy of your favourite scooter magazine, then you can do so via our secure online webshop here.
Ride safe and we’ll see you at the next BSRA National scooter rally in Exmouth, if not before.
PS Don’t forget to turn up the resolution on the video to HD!
