Lambretta Club Rally Control

During the 1960s the British Lambretta Owners Association and Lambretta Club Great Britain were large enough to not only be running events nationally, but to have their own Rally Control vehicle for organising them while on site. Inside edition 51 of ScooterNova magazine, we take a look back

at these Rally Control vehicles, what they were and the kind of uses they were put to.

Together with some archive images (some rarely seen) we were able to piece together a little history showing the different vehicle through time…..

…. at different events and even in different countries too.

A modern day replica of one such van was recently created by reader Stuart Martin and that is also featured in edition 51, together with the story of the restoration he undetook. Spoiler alert, a Commer van takes up a lot more space than a normal classic scooter!
