If you’re riding to Scotland for EuroLambretta this weekend you may well bump into two scooterists raising money for two charitable causes. Riding a classic Lambretta 4,000kms and without a support vehicle, they will be using a donation page so that both charities, Eden Valley Children’s Hospice and Blind Veterans receive 50% each of all monies donated.

Just before the world hit the brakes with Covid, four mates on four classic Lambrettas were gearing up to ride to Cumbria, raising funds for the aforementioned causes. But like many good things at the time, the ride was shelved.
But five years on and they’re back at it! This time, it’s just two of them, Paul and Julie, on one Lambretta riding even further than the previous plan, from their home in Los Alcazares in the south east of Spain up to Bonnie Scotland and back again.

Setting off on 22 June 2025, the ride through Spain took them via Madrid to the port of Bilbao. The ferry from there lands in Plymouth at 15:00 this afternoon (24 June 2025), after which they plan to ride up to Bristol via Swiss Tony’s Scooter Spares shop in Bridgwater.
They are aiming to raise €8,000 and after only two days on the road they have already topped €3,000. They ask that if you are able to then please donate what you can – every penny counts. You can do this via the GiveWheel fundraising page here.

You can also follow Paul and Julie’s journey via their Facebook page here, and they ask if you would be kind enough to share their adventure on your own social media pages to help spread the word.
After a day off in Bristol they are riding to Bolton then on to Ayr, and after the rally their ride home takes in Carlisle, Reading and Henley, before heading down to Portsmouth for a ferry back to Spain, and they invite anyone who wants to join them for a few miles of riding to do so.
ScooterNova magazine wishes Paul and Julie all the best and look forward to catching up with them in Ayr.
