As expected and indeed we had written previously both in our online blog here, and edition 46 of ScooterNova magazine, the popular Vespa GTS range is soon to be available with
Piaggio’s new Euoro 5+ compliant 310 engine.

Officially unveiled at Eicma in Milan today, models have been slowly filtering through to European showrooms in recent weeks with many UK dealers having pre-ordered theirs too.

Actually a 310cc engine (the GTS300 was only 278cc) the official press statement states the engine produces 25hp which is less than Piaggio’s press release for their new Beverly 310 scooter’s claimed 27.7hp. One assumes if this not a typo that the engine mapping has been adjusted to suit the different models of scooter.

The new 310 engine produce power at lower revs and boast impressive acceleration, but of course you know that from our review of the Piaggio MP3 310 in edition 46.

There is also a brand new Vespa GTV 310 with restyling including the seat and a funky new clock offering far more for the rider than just speed.

Word on this model seemed quiet but we expect to hear more during 2025 including final spec details.

With Euro 5+ looming other Vespas in the range, also have compliant engines.
Other news from Piaggio includes a redesigned Liberty scooter, if you like big/ high-wheeled commuters, in 50, 125 and 150cc formats, a new liquid-cooler Medley 200 model to that range that produces 13kW power and Euro 5+ for other models as required to meet new legislation.

You can read more from Eicma in the next edition (47) of ScooterNova magazine, published mid-December.
