August Bank Holiday and we were back on the island for plenty more scooter related fun…
The campsite at Smallbrook Stadium near Ryde was buzzing for the duration, thousands of scooters coming and going all weekend. In fact local traffic signs suggested over 5000 bikes on the island when we rolled off the ferry on Thursday!

The site also hosted the dealers market, custom show, evening entertainment (soul room, indie bar and main arena with DJs and live bands), even an inflatable pub, and so as always was the hub of all things scootering.

In the show a classic Piaggio Ape Calessino caught our eye, along with a beautiful original condition Vespa Rally 200, some lovely shaft drive Lambrettas and stunning custom scooters from the 80s onwards.

Two club displays stood out, the Lambretta Chopper Owners Club and the amazing DTC Owners Club which literally took centre stage.

Outside on the site the Italian scooters were joined by British DKR, BSA and Triumph machines, a German Heinkel, and a cute twin-cylinder Moto Rumi amongst many others.

Of the live bands King Kurt stole the show over the weekend, leaving a few tired eyes joining the mass ride out on Sunday!

Even a little rain Saturday night couldn’t dampen the spirits. Well done and thank you to all involved (VFM were the main organisers of this BSRA event) for another fantastic scooter rally!
