We can’t wait and have packed our scooters already, but for those wanting last-minute information before setting off, here’s a reminder about what to expect over the next few days at what is probably the largest scooter rally of its kind in the world!
The site and rally HQ is once again at Smallbrook Speedway Stadium, Ashey Road just on the outskirts of Ryde. Thursday night is a fairly quite one for the organisers, dealers and early arrivals to chill out on the campsite with a well-deserved beer or two.
The rally starts properly on the Friday, the dealer village opens and you’ll be able to buy all the official merchandise there from T-shirts to patches, as well as plenty of goodies for your scooter, both new and old with shops selling shiny stuff and get-you-home spares, as well as various auto-jumble pitches.
Friday night’s headline act are 90s Indie/ Britpop chart hitters, Dodgy, who played their first scooter rally back in the 1990s and have a good following on the scooter scene.

Saturday will be a big one, with scooterists from all over the world descending on Smallbrook stadium to check out the custom show. We’ll be there snapping away and will post some photos on the blog over the weekend – if we remember, have enough battery power and a signal of course!
As well as the dealers there will be live music during the day, bars, DJs and more…
…with the evening headline act King Kurt, who saw chart action in the 1980s and have been ‘entertaining’ audiences ever since!
Sunday is the rideout (leaving from the Ice Arena car park on Ryde seafront at 1pm), the local branch of the Vespa Club of Britain organising it this year, promising us a different route and destination too.
And if like us you’re in it for the long haul, we’ll see you at the bar Sunday night for a final dance and a natter before Monday and the ride home looms.
Have a safe ride and see you on the island!
