Most riders of classic scooters also have a passion for 2-stroke engines too – I know we at Scooternova do.
And if you share the same passions then take a look at this
video – it’s a V8 2-stroke engine and it sounds AMAZING!
Marine engine specialists Evinrude developed a V8 2-stroke outboard engine back in the mid-1980s, the 300XP, with a capacity of 4000cc and around 250-300hp with over 300 ft/lb of torque!
This motor boasts 8 carburettors, 8 expansion chambers, a rev-limiter at around 6700rpm and this one in particular apparently has a future life powering a Volvo drag car in Sweden.
What happened with the car project we don’t know, but I bet we’re not the only scooter riders out there loving the noise this engine makes and wondering how on earth it could be squeezed into a Lambretta or Vespa chassis!
Hiya, thanks for posting, I found this pretty good to read. 🙂
