It’s good to see a scooter other than a Lambretta or Vespa taking the limelight for a change, in this instance it’s a 1960 Dayton Albatross made in London, England by the Dayton bicycle company.

The scooter was donated to The Butterwick Hospice, which operates an outreach service at Richardson Hospital, Barnard Castle in County Durham, and with help from Barnard Castle-based antiques expert David Harper, it was eventually sold via an online auction website for  £3,100.

The scooter had apparently been in storage since in was last on the road in 1975.
