Our bags are packed, the scooters are loaded and we’ve each sold a vital organ to pay for some petrol – next stop Scarborough Scooter Rally!
Okay so our organs are still (fairly) intact, and the camera bag will be strapped on in the morning, but you get my drift – we can’t wait for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend to begin!
Fingers crossed we plan to ride into town on Friday afternoon, and after unpacking our scooters we will be catching up with friends at various hostelries around town before descending on the Spa Complex (YH11 2HD) along the seafront at the South Bay end of town.
This is the place to be throughout the weekend for both evening entertainment and a healthy feed of all things scooter related.
On Friday night The Beat will be live on stage in the main room with two other rooms of entertainment also on site and plenty of rally DJs to spin some tunes to keep you dancing. Saturday night sees Ocean Cover Scene followed by The Tornados on stage, with again plenty of DJs to keep you on those wooden dancefloors until the wee hours.
During the day on Saturday, The Spa hosts the scooter custom show plus a wide variety of scooter traders offering spares and accessories for those shopping for their scooters. There are other stalls too, such as Crusader with the official Scooter Rally patches and T-shirts, and ScooterNova too of course with our merchandise and magazines for all those wanting to treat themselves!
Scarborough and Easter holds a soft spot for ScooterNova as this is where we launched the magazine back in 2017. We’d love to see those of you who came on that day again, to say hello and thank you for your support. Of course, you can renew your subscription on the day, get a copy of the latest magazine plus any you may have missed recently too.
Edition 54 (March/April 2026) is packed of scooters from the cover start Vespa 50 (how many scooterists of the 80s started on one of these?) to the custom Lambretta GP on the rear cover, Past & Present.
In between we have a 1980s cover star Mod Lambretta, an amazing tale of travelling from Australia to France in a 3-wheeler during the 1950s, a rare 4oth anniversary Vespa PX, the mythical Lambretta LI Series 4, the best custom Vespas of the 1980s, tech tips on large carbs and big tanks, the early years of Piaggio and the Vespa, plus a whole lot more besides.
We will also have some NEW merchandise available, including a range of T-shirts that celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vespa scooter. Whether you are going to Rome in June or British Vespa Days in August, on a classic scooter or modern GTS, we have something for you!
Speaking of Vespa, we will also have the extremely fascinating Wild On The Wasp books with us too.
Other new products include a range of retro bags with Lambretta and Vespa designs on them. We also have some new Lambretta T-shirts, ahead of that 80th anniversary in 2027!
