This coming bank holiday sees the national scooter rally location north of the border in sunny Kelso (yes, so what’s wrong with a little optimism?).Traditionally a good event, the town of Kelso is friendly towards us two-wheeled tourists and suits the social side of the scene perfectly with plenty of establishments to drink and chat away the day in. The rally itself is based at the Showground, organised by the Scottish No1’s and generally a great weekend away, even though most locals head off home on the Sunday as it’s not a bank holiday north of the border.
It’s a long way up from the sunny south, but once past Scotch Corner the ride is beautiful and the campsite welcoming. And if you fancy going further into Scotland ,there’s some scooter racing at East Fortune circuit this weekend as well – what a bargain!
