The Lambretta Series 1 is a model we hold dear to our hearts here at Scooternova, which also translates into yes, we have and they are a lovely scooter to ride too! Sadly though, not in as amazingly original condition as this example which was recently unearthed by Rimini Lambretta Centre in Italy.

The condition of this scooter is pretty amazing considering it’s age, this is a 1958 model.
It apparently runs well too, the rear induction air intake system shown here which gave this scooter it’s modern day nickname of the ‘framebreather’.

The mileage is not too high either which in this instance, looking at the scooter’s condition, could be fairly accurate too!

In a world of coincidences my Framebreather was a barn find in Italy too, that I picked up in the late 1990s during a trip out there that included a visit to our old friends at RLC. Continuing the theme, it was in an old but not quite original condition and has been ever since. Sadly the years and miles have taken their toll and just the other day the discussion was around taking it off the road for an overhaul… Possibly repainting it River Grey, just like this one here.
Not got a windscreen that tall for it though!
