Starstream Media (nottm) Ltd (Company No: 10629646) is the publisher of ScooterNova magazine. Starstream Media (nottm) Ltd is the data controller in the use of your personal data and takes your privacy and security rights very seriously. We guard any information we may have on others as if it were our own.
When you place an order for a single magazine, magazine subscription or merchandise, request information or ask to join our mailing list, we might need to know your name and other information such as your postal address, email address and telephone number. This information you may provide us is for the provision of products and services.
We may also wish to provide you with information about our services and products which we think may be of interest to you. We may provide this information by telephone, post or email.
We might share your information with our agents and distributors, and certain service providers to assist with our administration and delivery. For example to directly mail magazines from our printers via either a a postal company like Royal Mail, or a courier company.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of eighteen.
We keep information only for as long as we need it to provide you services, manage our business or as required by contract.
When ordering magazines, subscriptions or other products from our web shop, all credit card transactions are processed through PayPal and Stripe, both long established technology companies that specialise in processing online payments securely. They comply fully with the very latest online credit card processing legislation.

By submitting your information to us you give your consent to the use of that information as set out in this Privacy Policy. If we change our Privacy Policy we will update the changes on this page so that you may be aware of the information we collect and how we use it.

Magazine Subscription Terms & Conditions

Your Subscription

Your Subscription contract will be fulfilled by Starstream Media (nottm) Ltd, registered in England and Wales under number 10629646, who are the publishers of ScooterNova magazine.

When placing your order for a magazine Subscription legally binding contract is formed at this point.

We reserve the right not to accept or process your order for any reason. All orders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by your payment card issuer and/or bank.

Subscription Term

There are two types of Subscriptions:
One Year Subscription. Subscriptions will not automatically renew.
Auto-Renew Annual Subscription. Subscriptions will automatically renew annually via Direct Debit payment collected by GoCardless, acting on behalf of ScooterNova magazine/ Starstream Media (nottm) Ltd.

Your Subscription will start with the current issue available at time of payment unless requested otherwise and will run for six issues. If the frequency of ScooterNova magazine changes per annum, we will honour the number of issues paid for, not the term of the Subscription.

Should you wish to purchase back issues or single editions, you can do so by visiting our online shop.

We reserve the right not to fulfil and to cancel orders:
In the event of obvious inaccuracies in prices.
If we are unable to obtain payment authorisation from your bank or payment card issuer.

Delivery

We will deliver the magazines to the address provided by you when you place your order. Your Subscription will start with the current issue available at time of payment unless requested otherwise. UK Subscribers please allow up to two weeks for delivery from publication date. Overseas subscribers please allow up to eight weeks. You agree that we will not be responsible for failure to deliver the magazines if you have supplied us with an incorrect address.

We will not be liable to you for any delay in delivery or non-delivery of magazines where:

Your payment has been refused by your bank or card issuer.

Such delay or failure is due to circumstances beyond our control or the control of our sub–contractors, including but not restricted to war, pandemic, utilities failure, failure of transport infrastructure, fire, flood, government act, act of God, legislative constraints, strikes, labour disputes or malicious damage involving employees.

If you do not receive an issue, you must inform us within 21 days from the date of publishing by emailing info (at) scooternova.com

Our liability to you in the event of a magazine being lost in despatch shall at our discretion, be limited either to replacement of the missing issue or refund of the cost of the missing issue. If any publication is damaged when delivered to you, we may offer an exchange or refund, as appropriate, in accordance with your legal rights.  If you believe a publication was delivered damaged or faulty you must promptly inform us in writing, giving us your name, address and order reference and you may be required provide proof upon request. These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Change of address

Any change of delivery address must notified in writing either by post to our postal or email address as published  in the magazine.

Cancellations & Refunds

All magazine Subscriptions have a 14-day cooling off period as per the Consumer Contracts Regulations. If you choose to cancel your Subscription for any reason within 14 days of purchase, you will receive a full refund. You must also return all cancelled Subscription issues that you have received to us with the original packaging unopened within 14 days of cancellation, and at your own cost and risk. If you have received a free gift with this Subscription or any magazine, these must also be returned unopened along with the publication. Please make sure your parcel is insured correctly for the value of the contents and save your proof of posting and tracking information until your refund has been processed. You will be responsible for the cost and risk of returning the Subscription (and any free gift) (if either are applicable) to us. Returned issues must clearly show the order number obtained from us on the package and should be sent to the address noted below.

You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the publication while it is in your possession. If you fail to comply with this obligation, we may have a right to deduct the cost of any deterioration from you, up to the price of the Subscription, from the refund to which you are otherwise entitled.

Notification of your request to cancel must be made in writing via email to info (at) scooternova.com or posted to ScooterNova magazine, The Lambretta Museum, 77 Alfred Street, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, BS23 1PP within the required timespan and include your name, address and order reference.

If you wish to cancel a Subscription after the 14-day cooling-off period has expired and within the first 12 months period any refund given will be at our discretion and in this event, we will, on your request, give you a proportionate refund relating to the unexpired term of the Subscription period where you have paid for this in advance. Notification of your request to cancel must be made in writing via email to info (at) scooternova.com or posted to: ScooterNova magazine, The Lambretta Museum, 77 Alfred Street, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, BS23 1PP including your name, address and order reference.

Auto-Renew Annual Subscriptions created with Direct Debit payment last for 12 months and will be renewed annually. Should you wish to cancel after the minimum term, you can do so 30 days before the Subscription renews.  Please email us at info (at) scooternova.com.  You should also contact your bank to cancel your Direct Debit payment.

If you cancel a contract between us for a Subscription within the 14 days cooling-off period (see above), we will process any refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any case, within 21 days after the day you have given notice of your cancellation. We will refund the price of any un-mailed issues of the Subscription that you have already paid for in full. Where you cancel a contract within the 14 days cooling-off period and also require a refund of the first issue of the Subscription (where this has been received by you before you have exercised your right to cancel) we will refund the cost of that issue of the Subscription in full, including the cost of standard delivery as long as it was returned to us as according to the conditions set out above.  However, we will not refund your cost of returning the issue to us.

Please note that any refunds will be issued in sterling.

Payment

Prices displayed on the Subscriptions section of the web-shop include delivery charges and taxes (where applicable).

Subscribers to the One Year Subscription plan will make a one off payment.

Subscribers who choose the Auto-Renew Annual Subscription will make an initial payment; and then your ongoing annual Subscription will be collected every 12 months from by Direct Debit by GoCardless, acting on behalf of ScooterNova magazine/ Starstream Media (nottm) Ltd.

We reserve the right to increase our prices at any time after the first year of your Subscription has elapsed and will notify you by email with 10 days’ notice of any such price increase.

Although we try to ensure that all prices are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of your order, we will inform you as soon as possible. You will have the option of confirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as cancelled. We will refund you in full if you cancel the order and have already paid.

If you are under 18 or are not using your own credit/debit card or bank details to pay for the Subscription, you must ask the permission of the credit/debit cardholder or bank account holder before entering the payment details. By making a purchase you are confirming that you have obtained the express prior permission of the person concerned.

Personal information

We use the personal and transactional information you supply to us in order to fulfil your Subscription order. On the online order form we will ask you about receiving further details of our products and services and you can tick or un-tick any relevant boxes to indicate whether or not you wish to receive such information.

We do not hold any card details ourselves as all transaction made online are process by either Square, Stripe or Paypal.
Bank account details for Direct Debit are held by GoCardless.

We will not be liable to you for any losses you may suffer as a result of unauthorised access by a third party to the information (including in particular credit/debit card details) you transmit when you place an order. It is your responsibility to ensure the security of your own credit/debit card details to avoid unauthorised use.

General

We reserve the right to withdraw any Subscriptions offered at any time. We may, for example, cease to publish a publication at any time. We shall not be liable to anyone for withdrawing any Subscription or for refusing to accept an order.

Where you have paid us any advance payments and we have withdrawn Subscription or a publication, we will offer you an alternative Subscription Where you have paid us any advance payments and we have withdrawn Subscriptions or a publication, we will offer you an alternative product or a full refund for any advance payments relating to unfulfilled Subscriptions.

These Terms and Conditions are subject to change.

MERCHANDISE

Before returning any products you must contact us first via email for instructions. All return requests must be made within 14 days of receipt of product. If product is faulty a replacement will be sent out upon receipt and inspection of returned item, and costs of instructed method of return postage refunded. If product is returned by any other method any extra costs will not be refunded. If incorrect size of T-shirt, hoodie or zoodie was ordered, then postage costs for returning incorrect product and replacement product must be paid by customer. An invoice for shipping of replacement product will be issued before it is despatched. Measure twice, order once.
All goods must be returned in original condition in original packaging together with any free gifts that may have been included. Failure to do so may result in refusal of refund or replacement product.

Standard competition terms & conditions

  1. These standard terms and conditions are subject to any other terms and conditions provided, or to which you are referred to at the time of entering the competition.

  2. Competition details form part of these terms and conditions and by entering you agree to abide by all terms and conditions.

  3. Entry is open to residents of the UK except employees of ScooterNova Magazine, Starstream Media (Nottm) Ltd, the suppliers of the prizes and any other companies associated with the competitions.

  4. The entrant(s) must be aged 17 or over. Proof of identity and age may be required.

  5. Entries that are incomplete or illegible will be deemed void.

  6. All entries must be made directly by the person entering the competition. Use of a false name or address will result in disqualification.

  7. Entries made online using methods generated by a script, macro or the use of automated devices will be void.

  8. Unless otherwise permitted under specific terms, no person may enter any competition more than once. Multiple entries will be disqualified.

  9. Where an entrant or prize winner has been found to be in breach of any of the terms and conditions of a competition, we may still enforce our right to disqualify that person and require the return or reimbursement to us of any prize even where a prize has been awarded and/or actually provided to the entrant or prize winner in question.

  10. No responsibility can be accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed in the post, or due to computer error in transit.

  11. The prizes are as stated, are not transferable to another individual and no cash or other alternatives will be offered.

  12. No additional, further or other costs or expenses are included in any prize unless specifically stated, including but not limited to any necessary travel (including related documents, passports, visas etc), labour costs in fitting of components, ancillary parts required for components to be fitted.

  13. Any tax or other charges payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received will be the responsibility of the winner. Entrants should seek independent financial advice before entering if this is a concern.

  14. We make no representation or warranty in relation to prizes provided and to the fullest extent permitted by law we shall have no liability to you in relation to any prize, its fitness for purpose, merchantability or otherwise.

  15. Prizes are subject to availability and the prize suppliers’ terms and conditions.

  16. The promoters reserve the right to amend or alter the terms of competitions at any time and reject entries from entrants not entering into the spirit of the competition.

  17. All stated prize values are at the supplier’s recommended retail price in pounds sterling and are, to the best of our knowledge and belief, correct at the time of printing.

  18. Third party suppliers of prizes may also often stipulate their own terms, conditions or restrictions and all prize winners agree to be bound by these.

  19. In the event of a prize being unavailable, the promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.

  20. The winner(s) agree(s) to the use of their name, photograph, disclosure of county of residence and will co-operate with any other reasonable requests by ScooterNova magazine relating to any post-winning publicity.

  21. Unless stated otherwise all postal entries must be made on the relevant coupon or form printed in the magazine.

  22. Unless stated otherwise the winner(s) will be drawn at random from all correct entries received by the closing date stated within the magazine or website.

  23. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winner(s). If the winner(s) cannot be contacted, or are unable to comply with these terms and conditions, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant.

  24. Confirmation of the prize will be made in writing to the winner(s).

  25. Failure to respond and/or provide an address for delivery, or failure to meet the eligibility requirements may result in forfeiture of the prize.

  26. Where applicable, the decision of the judges is final based on the criteria set out in the promotion and no correspondence will be entered into over this decision.

  27. Competitions may be modified or withdrawn at any time.

  28. The provider of the prize is specified within the promotional material.

  29. The Promoter is ScooterNova magazine, The Lambretta Museum, 77 Alfred Street, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1PP.

  30. In the event of a discrepancy between these standard terms and conditions and the details in the promotional material (or any other terms and conditions provided/referred to at the time of entry), the details of the promotional material (and any other terms and conditions provided/referred to at the time of entry) shall prevail.

  31. If a competition requires entrants to submit a photograph and/or video clip to enter or participate, they must undertake to us that their entry is not in breach of any third party intellectual property rights and will not contain anything, which is defamatory, indecent, harassing or threatening and that they will indemnify us for any loss, damage or liability arising should this turn out not to be true. They must also warrant they are the person in the photograph or video and/or they have prior consent from all persons in the photograph or video to submit it as part of their entry.

  32. Entrants agree that we have the right to publish and communicate to the public the submitted media without restriction or limitation throughout the world and agree not to bring any actions, suits, claims and demands against us in respect of defamation or any infringement or violation of any personal and/or property rights of any sort from our use of their photograph or video.

  33. Entrants aged under 18 shall have obtained the consent of a parent or a guardian (and will provide us with the contact details upon request).

  34. By entering the competition entrants confirm that they have the right, power and authority to grant the rights set out above and that they have obtained all consents and permissions necessary to grant us the same.

  35. A list of winners will be available by writing to the publisher of ScooterNova magazine no earlier than eight weeks after the close of the competition. Only the surname and county of the winners will be disclosed.

  36. All prizes must be claimed within twenty-one days of our notification of winning unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to award prizes unclaimed after these periods to alternative prize winners or not to award them at all.
