RIP Jonnie Bolland – a legend of the scooter scene

We are sad to learn today of the passing of our friend Jonnie Bolland, a member of the Stockport Crusaders SC and a big part of the VFM team of scooterists. From printing and selling legshield banners in the 1980s to buy his beer at scooter rallies, to organising national events in the 21st century, and printing may of the current scooter rally patches and T-shirts today, Jonnie has been a stalwart on the scooter scene for decades now. Whether riding his Vespa Rally 200 or arranging which dealers go where on a scooter rally campsite, it seems to many of us that Jonnie was always there.
There’s little to say at sad times like this that hasn’t been said already. Suffice to say that Jonnie will be missed by many, many people around the UK and beyond. The scooter scene as it is today owes a great debt to this man.
Our thoughts go out to his widow Jude, children, family and close friends at this difficult time.
Our friends over at Scooter Lab UK have re-ublished an interview that Sticky conducted with Jonnie a few years ago. It makes great reading and is a great tribute to a great man.

RIP Jonnie, we’ll all miss you very much and will raise a glass in your honour at the next scooter rally.
